It features the Glasney cartulary, which was copied in the 1400s. A cartulary is a book containing copies of charters and title deeds for properties. Although most of the cartulary is written in Latin, the book contains four words of Cornish (highlighted). They feature in an account of how Bishop Bronescombe, the Bishop of Exeter, dreamt that he was visited by St Thomas, who invited him to establish a church in Polsethow, Penryn. It highlighted the prophecy In Polsethow ywwhylyr anethow, meaning ‘in Polsethow dwellings (or marvels) shall be seen’. Glasney College was also known as the Church of St Thomas.
